Editorial policy

Home and work tools begin with a defined task, visible assumptions, and a calculation we can explain and check.

Publish a useful answer to a real decision.

Calculator pages are not automatically mass-produced from keyword lists. Each tool must have a defined user purpose, tested formula, worked example, limitations, and editorial review before publication. Current subjects include renting and moving, and the costs and time involved in recurring service jobs. Publishing a tool does not establish that it is the best option for every user.

Each calculator page includes original explanatory material, inclusions, exclusions, a visible formula, a worked example, common mistakes, and related tools.

Use primary authoritative sources when a claim needs support.

Stable arithmetic definitions can be explained directly. External factual claims should be checked against primary sources, with the source and access date recorded when the claim is material.

Frequently changing facts are avoided unless they are necessary. Calculator inputs come from the user instead of a hidden current-rate feed, reducing stale-data risk. Job examples use invented prices, wages, costs, and visit times; they are not local market-rate recommendations. Legal, tax, and employment questions are outside the job review’s calculation model.

AI-assisted drafts require review.

AI-assisted content, when used for research or drafting, must be checked before publication. Published calculations run through disclosed, tested code; they do not ask an AI model to decide a user’s result. AI assistance is not a claim of professional accounting, financial, or legal review.

This policy does not claim a staffed editorial department. It defines the review standard the project applies before content is considered ready.

Known examples must pass before a formula ships.

Pure formula modules are tested separately from the interface. The published worked examples are part of the test baseline, along with invalid values, decimals, optional blanks, zero denominators, and finite-output checks.

Read the methodology for current versions and review dates.

Commercial relationships remain separate from results.

Advertising does not influence calculator formulas, results, explanations, or comparison order.

Advertisements and remote analytics are currently disabled. Ownership verification for an advertising account is separate from serving advertisements. Any later serving requires actual account approval, implemented privacy and consent controls, and a reviewed placement outside forms and away from calculate actions. Game pages remain ad-free.

No affiliate links or marketplace are present in this release. If introduced later, they will not determine formulas, rankings, or “lower estimated cost” labels.

Report a reproducible issue.

Use the contact page to report an incorrect example, formula, source, or explanation. Include the page and a non-sensitive case. Material formula corrections update the tests, methodology, version, and review date; wording changes do not imply a new mathematical review.
